Admission to the Polytechnic College for the three-year Full Time Diploma course is done strictly on the basis of marks scored in the SSLC Examination and as per reservation policy of the Government of Tamilnadu.

A special reservation 5 % is alloted for physically challenged students is OC quoto except Mech. and EEE branch.

In the view of providing higher education for poor and middle class students, the Govt. of Tamil Nadu has placed an order to conduct the classes in shift basis from the academic year 2009 – 10 onwards in 14 Polytechnic Colleges spread all over Tamil Nadu. Due to this scheme more number of students are admited and ultimately get benefited.

LATERAL ENTRY
Direct admission to the second year is also made from those who have passed the Higher Secondary Course (Academic and Vocational) and ITI (10th Passed with 2 years ITI) admission under this category is restricted to 10% of the regular intake of students. The admission is made on the basis of merit and the reservation policy of the State Govt.
